Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh lauded Irrfan Khan’s Madaari


Actress Deepika Padukone has lauded her Piku co-star Irrfan Khan’s film Madaari, hailing it as a movie which will “stir” people emotionally. The thriller-drama talks about taking a stand and shouldering responsibility, while it also showcases the bond between a father and son.
The Bajirao Mastani actress, who starred opposite Irrfan in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku last year, said Madaari will get the viewers thinking.
“It’s outstanding. I think it’s one of those films that’s going to stay with us for a very very long time and going to get all of us thinking, and it’s going to stir you up emotionally,” Deepika said in a statement.
Earlier, Bollywood heartthrob Ranveer Singh, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Befikre’, had also praised Irrfan Khan starrer-Madaari and described the latter as an “enigmatic genius”.
Ranveer, 31, tweeted, “Radical stuff! An emotional thrill-ride that’ll shake you up & wake you up! Nishikant Kamat comes out all guns blazing in this one! #Madaari.”
He added, “How he does it…time after time…we will never know…I salute the Enigmatic Genius that is @irrfan_k #Madaari.”
Among other celebrities who have lauded the film included Bhumi Pednekar, actor Rajkummar Rao, Tisca Chopra, Imtiaz Ali and actress Zareen Khan.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also lauded internationally acclaimed Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan’s latest film Madaari. Kejriwal watched “Madaari” on Friday, and has urged everyone to see the film.
“Irrfan Khan ‘Madaari’…Amazing movie. Everyone must watch it,” Kejriwal tweeted on Saturday night.
Irrfan earlier had a candid chat with Kejriwal as part of promotional activity for Madaari. The thriller sees Irrfan and director Nishikant Kamat team up again after the award-winning Mumbai Meri Jaan.
While the film is about taking a stand and shouldering responsibility, it also showcases the bond between a father and son. “Madaari” also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Vishesh Bansal, Tushar Dalvi, Nitish Pandey and Ayesha Raza.
